WHO WE ARE

OUT!ology Network [OUTNet] or [OUT!] is a registered non-profit organization ,based in the Nelson Mandela Bay also known as the friendly city Port Elizabeth, in the Eastern Cape. The community based organization, focuses primarily on educative initiatives for the youth, sensitizing them on sexual orientation and gender identity. OUT!ology was founded in March 2015, and ever since has been involved in uplifting community campaigns. These campaigns have been in collaboration with the Nelson Mandela Bay’s Masincedane Group. Masincedane is a collective of local Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) organisations that collaborate on various events and campaigns in the Metro.

OUR MISSION

OUT!ology shall increase the awareness of, and information around sexual and gender minorities through advocacy, education, sharing knowledge, and creating and promoting sustainable, community-led initiatives.

OUR VISION

OUT!ology is committed to lessening the information gaps that exist today in society around sexual orientation and gender identity.

OUR OBJECTIVES

The organization’s primary objectives are to educate and advocate for sexual and gender minorities (SGM) in [but not limited to] the northern areas of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Bay.

The organization’s secondary objectives will be to work in collaboration with other organizations that mainly deal with SGM education, advocacy, and health transformation. OUT!ology aims to help SGM survivors of hate crimes, and other forms of discrimination, in accessing governmental services.
